Peter Riggs Brown

Peter Brown currently resides in Pine Meadow, CT and received a BFA in 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional design from the Hartford Art School. After graduating he took his sculptural skills towards jobs in construction, then changed course and applied his love of photography towards the commercial advertising photography field. After apprenticing with 2 Hartford area photographers for 5 years, he ventured out on his own and partnered with John Woodruff to form Woodruff/Brown Photography in 1985.

He is still active to this day with architectural photography, capturing high end commercial and residential projects for his architect clients’ marketing and advertising needs.

And recently with his personal work, in this ever changing new digital era of easily capturing images with iPhones and other devices, he has tried to take these everyday photo captures to a higher level of visualization by heavily altering each image with readily available software.

All throughout his photography career he has also maintained that love of building and working with materials, producing many woodworking furniture pieces, and more recently, his sculptural wall hangings, incorporating repurposed /found materials.
